The Kimono sleeve is cut with the bodice and the fit is very different from that of set in sleeve. The kimono sleeve is a basic type of sleeve and is basically just a rectangle. The Kimono sleeve can be cut along with the garment or separately and sewn on. Cutting the sleeve separately will save the fabric.
For the kimono sleeve the bodice and the sleeve has to be loose fitting. The arm round has to be deep. Kimono sleeves are often found in kimono, robes, boxy jackets and tunics.
The kimono sleeves add loads of volume on the top so it is best suited for small busted women. Kimono top when worn with a belt adds balance to a bottom heavy figure.
